Winston & Porter Recycling and Sustainable Packaging Policy 🌍🐾

At Winston & Porter, we care deeply about animal health and the environment. We continually review the packaging we use, aiming to reduce waste, reuse materials wherever possible and choose more sustainable alternatives without compromising the safe delivery of your order.

Our Packaging

♻️ Cardboard boxes
Our cardboard delivery boxes can be reused or placed in your household cardboard recycling.

♻️ Reused paper and cardboard
We reuse approximately 99% of the suitable paper and cardboard generated within our business by shredding it and using it to protect products during delivery. Members of our team also bring in suitable packaging from home so that it can be given a second life.

🌱 Our loose-fill packaging is not polystyrene
Some parcels require additional protection, so you may find white loose-fill chips inside your box. Although these look like traditional polystyrene, they are Ecoplo plant-based packaging chips made from sustainable, GM-free raw materials.

They are:

• 100% biodegradable and compostable
• Certified as compostable to EN 13432
• Lightweight, odourless and dust-free
• A more environmentally responsible alternative to conventional polystyrene loose fill

These chips should not be placed in your normal plastic recycling. Composting arrangements vary between local authorities, so please check your council’s guidance. If compostable packaging is not accepted locally, place it in your general household waste.

✅ Flattening and recycling cardboard and paper through your local collection
✅ Checking your council’s guidance before disposing of compostable packaging
✅ Letting us know if you have suggestions for improving our packaging
